The Facial Recognition Legislative Landscape and Its Impact on Security and Public Safety
Wednesday, June 9th
3:15pm–4:00pm
Virtual – All Times Are EDT
About the Session
Advances in computing power and photo and video technology have allowed facial recognition software to develop and mature, offering key advantages in the security field by enhancing the capabilities of video security, access control and identity management systems. At the same time, concerns have been raised about technology performance and uses in law enforcement, which have led to a range of proposals at the federal, state and local levels for regulation or even sweeping prohibitions on use of the technology. This session examines the difference in approaches, the extent to which we are seeing adoption and what we can expect in the future.
