Enhancing Federal Government Security: Embracing Digital and Contactless Access Control Solutions
In today’s rapidly evolving technological landscape, access control systems are undergoing significant transformations. Traditional methods, such as keycards and fobs, are being replaced by innovative digital and contactless solutions. Digital and contactless access control systems leverage smartphones, wearable devices and other contactless technologies to grant or restrict access to secure areas. These systems provide several advantages over traditional methods, including enhanced security, convenience and cost-effectiveness, making them particularly relevant for federal government agencies.
This panel will offer a real-world case study from a representative from Veterans Affairs who led a transition from Personal Identity Verification (PIV) and Common Access Card (CAC) systems to digital access control systems. The panel will discuss their experiences with key technologies, benefits, challenges and implementation strategies and best practices. The session will conclude with Q&A with the audience.
