  • CBP: Changing the Face of Travel through Land Border Innovation
    • As the guardian of the nation’s borders, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has a multi-layered mission and is a world-class law enforcement agency that adapts to counter new threats; protects the nation’s economic vitality; and manages increasing volumes of travel and trade to the United States. As travel continues to rise, CBP must find innovative and dynamic solutions to manage the challenge of securing and facilitating travel and trade across air, sea, and land borders. Building off its matching verification service in the air environment, CBP plans to test facial biometrics in the entry and exit process at the land borders in 2018.CBP is well-positioned to serve as the catalyst of innovation within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and will transform the face of travel through biometrics.
