Mr. Charles R. Malone joined the US Army Corps of Engineers in 1986, working for the Waterways Experiment Station, now part of the Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC).  In 2001, Mr. Malone moved from ERDC to the Engineering and Support Center in Huntsville, AL, where he currently serves as a Lead Electrical Engineer for the Electronic Security Systems Mandatory Center of Expertise (ESS MCX).  During his 33-year USACE career, Mr. Malone has been a key contributor in ESS research, testing, design, installation, and training for many high-visibility projects and customers.  In his role as ESS MCX Lead Electrical Engineer, Mr. Malone is responsible for delivering specialized technical services to the Corps of Engineers and the Army.


2019 Changes to DOD’s Unified Facilities Criteria for Electronic Security Systems

Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) documents provide planning, design, construction, sustainment, restoration, and modernization criteria for military departments, agencies and field activities. The Department of Defense is currently undertaking a major revision of its current UFC for electronic security systems to align with state-of-the-art security technologies offered by the industry, including access control, video surveillance and intrusion detection systems. This session will include a summary key changes anticipated in this revision and high-level implications for DOD end-users and suppliers.
