Vice President, Border Security Solutions


Craig McIntire is SAIC’s vice president for DHS CBP and TSA Border Security Solutions, headquartered in Reston, Virginia. He is responsible for overseeing all elements of the portfolio, which provides a wide range of IT and engineering services to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

McIntire began his career developing software-centric systems for the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD). He joined Sperry Corporation (Unisys) in 1985, where he designed and developed systems for DOD and the U.S. Department of Justice.  In early 2000, he served as vice president of engineering for a venture capital-funded startup and rejoined Unisys in 2001 to lead solution delivery efforts across commercial and federal accounts. For the past 12 years, he has led delivery and growth across multiple Customs and Border Protection and Transportation Security Administration accounts in a variety of roles. Unisys Federal Systems was acquired by SAIC in March 2020.

McIntire holds a master’s degree in computer science from the George Washington University and a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Virginia Tech.

The Biden administration has outlined its plan to shift DHS border security priorities from physical barriers to cohesively integrating security technologies across land ports of entry to enhance situational awareness. For “smart border” and “port of the future” initiatives to become a reality, cargo screening technologies and biometrics will play an instrumental part in facilitating inbound and outbound cargo and individual travelers at land ports.
