Matt joined Mercury Security in June 2016 as President. After the successful sale and integration of Mercury to HID Global in October 2017, Matt has maintained the operational responsibility for the Mercury business, in addition to, leading the HID Government Solutions Business (PIV) and the Global Accounts organization.

Matt, who began his security career in 1991, oversees sales, marketing, operations and corporate activities and initiatives for HID’s access control products worldwide. Matt is committed to providing industry leading products and Exceptional Customer Service in everything he and his team executes. His teams are motivated to provide the best product, service and support in the industry.

Prior to HID, Matt was President of AMAG Technology – a G4S Company. Matt spent 12 years working in various roles within the organization.

Matt is a member of ASIS International, BICSI and SIA. He travels internationally to attend and present at seminars and conferences focused on government security, the emergence of security in IT and emerging IoT standards.

The Government Accountability Office (GAO) recently confirmed in a study that implementing compliant, effective physical access controls continues to be a challenge across the federal enterprise. The security industry fulfills a crucial role in cybersecurity and national security by providing the systems that manage credentials for federal workers and contractors and control access to federal facilities and computer networks. However, continuing use of low-assurance, legacy mechanisms leave significant risks unaddressed. This panel will examine ways agencies are seeking to modernize their physical access control systems with equipment and software meeting current federal standards, and the related polices and funding mechanisms necessary to support these efforts.
