Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-Wash.) is Eastern Washington’s chief advocate in Congress. She served as chair of the House Republican Conference from 2012 to 2018. Since being elected to Congress in 2004, Rodgers has worked to restore trust and confidence in representative government and the rule of law and lead as a trust builder, ability advocate and unifying force to get results for hardworking men and women in Eastern Washington.
Rodgers is the ranking member on the House Energy & Commerce Committee and the co-chair of eight congressional caucuses: Military Family, Down Syndrome, Lumber, Neuroscience, Hydropower, Northwest Energy, Rural Health and the Mobility Air Forces Caucus. She is married to Brian Rodgers, a Spokane native and retired Navy commander, and they have three children.
As the ranking member of the House Energy & Commerce Committee, which holds jurisdiction on issues that impact the security industry, such as consumer protection, communications and technology, Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-Wash.) will focus her remarks on how Congress can address pressing legislative issues to project the United States as the global leader in technological innovation.
