Scott Jones is a member of the Senior Executive Service within the Federal Protective Service of the Department of Homeland Security. In his last duty assignment, he served as Chief of Policy, Programs, Security and Intelligence in a Department of Defense Program. In this position, he provided policy, strategy, security planning and implementation, and intelligence and threat information across a diverse portfolio of national security plans and programs. These programs include Continuity of Operations Planning and National Security and Emergency Preparedness planning in homeland defense activities.

Prior to this position, Mr. Jones was a principal analyst for Analytic Services Inc. (ANSER) whom advised and supported the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Homeland Defense and Global Security. In this capacity, he was responsible for developing global and domestic antiterrorism (AT) policy and procedures and managing the AT program for the Department. Additionally, he has served as Military Assistant to the Under Secretary of Defense for Policy, Office of the Secretary of Defense.

After more than 28 years of military service, Mr. Jones retired from United States Army, as a Military Police Colonel in 2013. He commanded the 118th Military Police Company (Airborne) during OPERATION DESERT SHIELD/STORM and ultimately commanded the 94th Military Police Battalion, Yongsan, Korea and the 8th Military Police Brigade, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. He has held numerous operational staff positions from Battalion Operations and Executive Officer, to Chief, Military Police Operations, Army G3/Office of the Provost Marshal General. In addition to his deployment on OPERATION DESERT SHIELD/STORM, Mr. Jones has three additional combat tours, Panama, Iraq and Afghanistan. During his tour in Afghanistan, he served as the Assistant to the Deputy Commanding General for Police Development, NATO Training Mission-Afghanistan.

Mr. Jones is a graduate from Radford University with a Bachelors of Science in Business, and holds a Masters of Science in Strategic Studies from the National War College.
